Interpretive training for sustainable heritage tourism – European Heritage Days 2023

On September 16, 2023, HAEMUS in partnership with Storytelling Skopje and Europe House Skopje, hosted an interpretive training: “Heritage as the Foundation for Sustainable Cultural and Natural Tourism”, in celebration of European Heritage Days 2023.

The highly successful one-day educational training empowered participants to enhance their creative visualization and communication skills within the realm of heritage interpretation. The goal was clear: to create cultural-tourism products that would contribute to the sustainable development of local communities. The event garnered significant interest from tourism professionals, museum institutions, and enthusiastic young attendees.

This training aimed to redefine heritage interpretation within the context of sustainable tourism. It fostered interactive learning and collaboration between tourism stakeholders and local communities, offering a fresh perspective on the future of sustainable heritage.

The heritage interpretation training was conducted by Vasilka Dimitrovska, M.Sci, Director of HAEMUS, heritage consultant, certified interpreter, and the national coordinator of Interpret Europe for Macedonia.
