The project “Heritage ReMix – Our Museum, Your Experience” has officially begun at the House of Jevrem Grujić in Belgrade.

Headley SEE Cultural Heritage Fund in partnership with the Balkan Museum Network, this regional initiative aims to rethink the relationship between museums and their audiences by introducing participatory, values-based interpretation and creative engagement tools.

As an official project partner, HAEMUS contributes its expertise in heritage interpretation and co-creation methodologies. The opening phase of the project was marked by a two-day intensive workshop led by Vasilka Dimitrovska, Director of HAEMUS, Certified Interpretive Trainer, and heritage storytelling specialist.

Organized in cooperation with the MUZETEA International Museum Theatre Festival, the workshop brought together museum professionals and cultural practitioners to explore innovative approaches to audience engagement. Through guided exercises, interpretive frameworks, and collaborative design processes, participants examined how museum spaces can evolve into dynamic platforms for dialogue, creativity, and inclusive expression.

“Heritage ReMix” seeks to reposition museums as living cultural environments — spaces where stories are not only preserved, but actively co-created with communities. By integrating interpretive methodologies, participatory techniques, and contemporary engagement strategies, the project strengthens the museum’s role in fostering meaningful connections between heritage and society.

Further project activities will continue to develop and test creative models that transform heritage into personal and collectively relevant experiences.
