On September 15, 2024, HAEMUS in collaboration with the educational interpretive program Storytelling Skopje and the Museum of Macedonia, presented “Time Travel with Queen Maria“—an immersive experience combining hands-on activities with AR and VR. Set against the medieval Skopje Fortress, participants were transported back to the 14th century, delving into the world of Queen Maria Palaiologina through interactive quests and a gamified journey.
Supported by the European Heritage Days and the SheLeadersVR project, this event set a new standard in heritage storytelling. The experience concluded with a virtual exploration of Skopje’s medieval palace, allowing attendees to uncover hidden artifacts and immerse themselves in Skopje’s rich history through cutting-edge technology.
