This year HAEMUS is joining the European Heritage Days 2020 with the online exhibition about “The Holy Mountain of Skopje“. The event is dedicated to the vast architectonic and art heritage that can be found at the slopes of Skopska Crna Gora Mountain. We created a special interactive portal for this purpose, supplemented with photo galleries and educative videos, as well as with info about our past projects on this topic during the last few years. The aim of this online exhibition is to put an emphasize on religions heritage in this micro-region, but also one of the goals is to raise the awareness among the general public through education, about the importance of the shared and common European heritage and customs.
Last year HAEMUS organized „Skopje ByzArt – history, art, tradition and experience” on the occasion of the European Heritage Days of Cultural Heritage 2019. With this participation we were eligible as an organization to apply for the “European Heritage Days story” grant. After the submission, our project “Grandma March Day” has been selected among the best European Heritage Stories for 2020 and financed by the Council of Europe.
