The book „Bioarheologija na Balkanu. Bilans i perspektive (Bioarchaeology in the Balkans. Balance and perspectives)“, editors N. Miladinović-Radmilović and S. Vitezović (publishers: Serbian archaeological society and Blago Sirmiuma) represents an outcame of the first meeting of the Bioarchaeological section of the Serbian archaeological society. It contains 12 papers on diverse topics: reviews of the actual state and history of bioarchaeological research in the Balkans, methodology on osteological research (bioanthropology and bone industry), case studies (anthropological and zooarchaeological) and papers on relations between animals and material culture. Authors are scholars from Serbia and France, including young PhD candidates. Bioarchaeological section helds sessions within annual meetings of SAS, and it is planned to continue to publish proceedings in the future.
