    Last year HAEMUS designed, organized and host the international exhibition “Grandma March Day – cultural practices on the Balkans”. The project was implemented by the institutional cross-border partnership ”National Identities within the United Europe”, signed between: HAEMUS – center for scientific research and promotion of culture (Skopje, Republic of Macedonia), Mihalaki Georgiev Regional Library (Vidin, Bulgaria), Buzau County Museum (Buzau, Romania) and Library Cultural Center (Kladovo, Serbia).     Poetry slam ”Martinka” with poets from many cities of the Republic of Macedonia was held on 05.03.2016 at the Skopje City Mall, within the exhibition “Grandma March Day – cultural practices on the Balkans”. The host was HAEMUS  – center for scientific research and promotion of culture in collaboration with the Poetry SLAM Macedonia.     The exhibition “Grandma March Day – cultural practices on the Balkans” was opened between 01.03.-09.03.2016 in Skopje, Republic of Macedonia.     Official Announcement submitted to UNESCO headquarter ‘Happy First of March’ is an annual event held by HAEMUS – Centre for scientific research and promotion of culture from Skopje on 01.03. This tradition celebrates both the beginning of the spring and ancient custom connected with wearing martinki . The martinki are hand-made and given as present to one’s closest friends and family, a custom practiced for hundreds of years.
