Professor Philipp Niewöhner from the University of Oxford

Title of the Course: The Archaeology of Marble in Macedonia and the Byzantine World
Venue: Lecture Hall of the Faculty (амфитеатар IV)

  • April 8th (12.00-14.30) – Methodology: the Episcopal Basilica at Stobi and Other Problems
  • April 10th (10.00-12.00) – Typology: Acanthus and the History of Early Byzantine Art
  • April 14th (12.00-14.00) – Quarries: Sivec, Proconnesus, Docimium, and the Technology of Provenance Analysis
  • April 16th (12.00-14.00) – Workshops: Connectivity and the Topography of Byzantine Art
  • April 17th (10.00-12.00) – Architecture: Order, Varietas, and the Use of Spolia
